Hakusensha’s latest announcement ushers in an exciting development, as renowned manga creator Natsuki Takaya, best known for her work on Fruits Basket, is set to unveil her new creation titled “Kakumo Chiisaki Sekai ni te” (In such a small world.) on the Manga Park website and app.

This upcoming romance manga revolves around the life of Sui Onodera, a 23-year-old apartment dweller. An unexpected intrusion by his neighbor Kaoru Seto, who’s searching for his dog Tino on Sui’s balcony, sets the stage for a heartwarming tale of how their lives become intertwined.

Natsuki Takaya’s legacy in the manga world began with her original serialization of Fruits Basket in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine, spanning from 1998 to 2006.

This beloved series found its way to English readers through Tokyopop’s publication efforts from 2004 to 2009, with Yen Press later releasing 12 updated omnibus volumes, starting in June 2016.
Takaya continued to captivate readers with the sequel manga, Fruits Basket Another, which made its debut on the free “HanaLaLa online” platform in September 2015 and concluded with its fourth volume in February 2022. Yen Press made this continuation accessible to English-speaking audiences.
The enchanting world of Fruits Basket expanded further with a 2001 television anime adaptation and a new anime adaptation in 2019. Subsequent seasons, such as Fruits Basket 2nd Season in 2020 and Fruits Basket the Final in 2021, continued to enrapture fans. Additionally, the Fruits Basket -prelude- film premiered in February 2022, adding another layer to this beloved universe.
