(Last Updated On: January 3, 2023)

On Tuesday, Tetsuya Tsutsui’s manga series, Neeting Life, came to a close with the publication of its final chapter on Shueisha’s YanJan! app and Tonari no Young Jump website. The story follows the journey of Kentarō Komori, a salaryman who embraces the NEET lifestyle – a term used to describe those who are Not Engaged in Education, Employment, or Training – during the pandemic by setting up a tent in his apartment and living as a shut-in.

The manga, which was first published in December 2021, has been a hit among readers and will have its first compiled volume released by Shueisha in August 2022, with a second volume set to be published on March 17th. Prior to Neeting Life, Tsutsui had already gained a following with his previous manga series, Prophecy, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump X magazine from 2011 to 2013 and received a live-action film adaptation in 2015.

Tsutsui’s talent for storytelling is not limited to his work in manga, as his noise manga, which was published in Grand Jump from December 2017 to January 2020, also received a live-action film adaptation in 2022. With the conclusion of Neeting Life, fans of Tsutsui’s work will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating his next project.
