Netflix has slated the Gamera -Rebirth- anime for a simultaneous release in India on September 7, aligning with its global premiere. Alongside this, the streaming giant will introduce the sequel film to Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in the Indian market.

Comprising six episodes, the Gamera -Rebirth- series will center on the iconic Gamera as it battles against a quintet of formidable kaiju, each a colossal creature of its own.

The anime’s cast members include:
- Saori Hayami as Emiko
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Joe
- Hisako Kanemoto as Boko
- Subaru Kimura as Brody
- Aki Toyosaki as Junichi
- Mamoru Miyano as Tazaki
Hiroyuki Seshita is taking the helm at ENGI, directing the anime. Keisuke Ide joins as the assistant director. Handling the series composition are Seshita, Kenta Ihara, and Hiroshi Seko, who also contribute to scripting alongside Tetsuya Yamada.

Atsushi Tamura lends his artistic touch to character designs, while monster designs are the brainchild of manga creator Kan Takahama. Shūji Katayama creates the captivating music, with Yoshikazu Iwanami overseeing sound direction. Yuichi Ishima serves as the line director. Rock band WANIMA brings their energy to both the opening theme “Natsuake” and ending theme “FLY & DIVE.”

Kadokawa’s Young Ace Up website will feature the manga adaptation, and a novel version by director Hiroyuki Seshita is also in the works. The legendary Gamera, a colossal fire-breathing turtle monster, first emerged in Daiei’s 1965 film “Daikaijū Gamera.” Crafted to rival TOHO’s iconic Godzilla, the franchise’s latest installment was “Chiisaki Yūsha-tachi Gamera” (Gamera the Brave) in 2006.
