The ‘Kengan Ashura’ series initially premiered globally in July 2019 on Netflix, followed by the second part, comprising episodes 13 through 24, in October the same year. Before its official release, the anime had its world premiere at the renowned Anime Expo in July 2018. Notably, the manga’s overwhelming popularity led it to win a fan voting contest in 2015, earning its animated adaptation.
The series boasts a remarkable team behind its creation. Seiji Kishi, known for works like ‘Danganronpa The Animation’ and ‘Yuki Yuna Is a Hero’, directed the anime at Larx Entertainment. The series composition was overseen by Makoto Uezu, while Kazuaki Morita took charge of character design. With Team-MAX’s Yasuharu Takanashi composing the heart-pounding music, the anime also features a riveting theme song, “King & Ashley,” by MY FIRST STORY. The ending theme, “Born This Way,” resonates with the powerful beats of hip hop crew BAD HOP.
