New 2024’s Shinmai Ossan Bōkensha Anime: Teaser, Visual, Cast, Staff

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kiraku Kishima’s novel series, “Shinmai Ossan Bōkensha, Saikyō Party ni Shinu Hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru” (The Rookie Middle-Aged Adventurer Was Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party to Become Invincible), has unveiled a teaser video, visual, cast, staff details, and announced a premiere date in 2024.

The anime will be directed by Shin Katagai, known for their work on “Re:Stage! Dream Days,” and produced by Yumeta Company. Handling the series composition is Kasumi Tsuchida, whose credits include “Lapis Re:LiGHTs.”

The character designs are crafted by Mari Eguchi, while Tomotaka Ohsumi, known for “Handyman Saitō in Another World,” will compose the music. Toshiki Kameyama, acclaimed for their work on “My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!,” will serve as the sound director.

The story centers around Rick Gladiator, a guild clerk with a dream to become a skilled adventurer. While conventional wisdom dictates that one should embark on this path at a young age to develop magical abilities, Rick’s journey commences at the age of 30.

His exceptional fighting prowess stems from his association with the legendary party, Orichalcum Fist, comprising the most formidable adventurers in the realm. Under the tutelage of “Monster-class” masters, ranging from dragons to vampires, Rick faces off against elite adventurers one after another.

The series’ source material, authored by Kiraku Kishima and featuring illustrations by Tea (known for “Villainess Level 99”), made its debut with the first novel volume published by HJ Novels in December 2018.

As of June 19, the series has reached its 12th volume. Additionally, Ken Ogino has been adapting the story into a manga format, serializing it on Comic Fire since November 2019. Hobby Japan has already released the seventh compiled book volume on April 1, with the eighth volume set for release this coming Friday.
