On a thrilling announcement last Saturday, NODWIN Gaming in partnership with Cosplay Genie, the organisers of World Cosplay Summit (WCS) India Qualifier 2023, declared the grand finale date to be held at Shri Ram Auditorium, Todermal Road Area, New Delhi on June 24. They unveiled this exciting news on their official Facebook page, leaving fans and participants eagerly anticipating the event.
The path to the finals also involves an intriguing journey as participants are required to submit their Costume Construction Report from May 7 to June 15 and a captivating Introduction Video between June 16 and June 20. This ensures a platform for all the talented cosplayers to showcase their creative skills and their passion for cosplaying.

Recalling the past successes, Team Agni Hana, the prop-making marvels, who represented India at the global stage last year, bagged the Prop Making award at the 2022 World Cosplay Summit. The team includes the talented duo of Rohit Kailasya and Vanna Calista, who showcased their crafty skills by cosplaying as characters from the famous Monster Hunter game franchise.
The 2022 event took place from August 5-7 at several locations in and around Nagoya, including the iconic Oasis 21, Hisaya Odori Park, and Osu Shopping Street. Team India also brought laurels in 2021 by winning the Environmental Consideration in Costume Making award, with KitsuneBlood Cosplays and Hotaru Juno mesmerising the audience with their Gintama anime characters Kagura and Matako Kijima.
The WCS India Qualifier 2023 continues to promote the blend of physical and virtual presence like its previous year. The executive committee of the event comprises prestigious bodies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, Nagoya Convention & Visitors Bureau, Osu Shopping District Alliance, Aichi Television Broadcasting, and WCS.
The event assures a grand spectacle after the unfortunate cancellation of its Championship and International Representative events in 2020 due to the pandemic. Replacing it with a “Cosplay Summit Online Presentation,” the organisers aim for a triumphant comeback with the 2023 summit.
The WCS India Qualifier 2023 is all set to bring forth an engaging competition, celebrating the artistry, creativity, and the vibrant culture of cosplay. It’s a countdown to June 24 for all cosplay fans and participants!
