(Last Updated On: July 19, 2023)

In the August edition of Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine, an exciting announcement was made on Tuesday. Wakana Hazuki and Sumire Kowono are teaming up to launch the third manga adaptation of the Disney Twisted-Wonderland smartphone game, titled Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Octavinelle. This thrilling manga will be featured in the magazine’s September issue, scheduled to ship on August 18. Notably, Komono will be lending their artistic talent once more, while Hazuki takes credit for the composition once again.

The upcoming manga will be an adaptation of the game’s third episode, “Shinkai no Shōnin” (The Merchant of the Deep Sea), just like the previous Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Heartslabyul and Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Savanaclaw manga, which centered on the dormitories in the stories. However, this time, the focus will shift to the students of the Octavinelle dormitory.

Hazuki and Kowono, the talented duo behind the game’s first manga adaptation, Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Heartslabyul, debuted their work in Monthly G Fantasy in March 2021 and concluded it in October 2022. Fans eagerly received the manga’s fourth and final volume, which was released in December 2022. Remarkably, Viz Media secured the licensing rights for the manga and presented the first volume to readers on July 11.

Twisted-Wonderland Game

Suzuka Oda’s Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic: Episode of Savanaclaw made a triumphant return in the magazine’s August issue, following a hiatus in April. Oda’s manga, which debuted in Monthly G Fantasy in December 2022, has been met with much anticipation. Square Enix has exciting plans to release the first compiled book volume (image right) on July 27.

Meanwhile, Jun Hioki’s novel adaptation of the game, Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Novel Episode 1: Shinku no Bōkun (The Crimson Tyrant), took flight in March 2022. Fans will be delighted to hear that the second novel, Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Novel Episode 2: Kōya no Hangyakusha (The Rebel of the Wilderness), is slated for release on August 25.

For avid enthusiasts, this captivating franchise had previously launched a manga anthology volume featuring stories from various authors in November 2020. The second manga anthology followed suit and shipped in April 2021.

Twisted-Wonderland Game

Since its initial launch in Japan in March 2020 and later in the United States and Canada in January 2022 for iOS and Android devices, the game has garnered immense popularity. Black Butler manga creator, Yana Toboso, played an integral role in crafting the game’s main concept, scenarios, and character designs. Additionally, TROYCA masterfully animated the game’s opening movie, while Night Ravels contributed their musical talent with the captivating opening theme song “Piece of my world.”

At the heart of this enchanting game lies an imaginative storyline centered around characters inspired by iconic Disney villains. The game itself is aptly described as a “villains academy adventure game,” incorporating rhythm elements and exhilarating battles.

The journey commences when the main character is summoned to another world through a magical mirror, landing them in the prestigious magic training school, “Night Ravens College.” Offering protection and guidance is the school’s enigmatic masked headmaster. Amidst their quest to return home, the main character befriends the school’s brilliant but somewhat reluctant students, creating bonds that will forever change their fate.
