TV Asahi unveiled an exciting, upcoming television anime venture titled “Our Rainy Protocol” (Bokura no Ameiro Protocol) over the weekend. This original series is set to debut in October on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation programming slot.
The anime will star (character name romanizations are not confirmed, left to right in image above):
- Sora Amamiya as Yū Saegusa, a popular new actress
- Momo Asakura as Mio Tokinoya, Shun’s younger sister
- Ryohei Kimura as Akito Sendō, Shun’s childhood friend and classmate
- Inori Minase as Nozomi Inazuki, Shun’s childhood friend and one year his senior
- Kensho Ono as Shun Tokinoya, a 17-year-old boy who lives with his mother and younger sister
The captivating youth drama revolves around the realm of e-sports. Shun Tokinoya, a second-year high school student, finds solace by joining the e-sports café FOX ONE after his father’s untimely demise. However, a startling revelation surfaces as FOX ONE grapples with an overwhelming burden of debt. To alleviate this financial predicament, Shun and his comrades courageously venture into the “Xaxxerion Championship” tournament, vying for the esteemed prize money.
The original work is credited to Team KITSUNE, with Yasutaka Yamamoto (known for Servant × Service, Nekopara, Noblesse, Medalist) serving as the esteemed chief director. Daishi Kato (renowned episode director for BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) takes on the role of director at the esteemed animation studio Quad. Kotsukotsu is acknowledged for the remarkable original story draft, while Katsuhiko Takayama (renowned for Aldnoah.Zero and The Future Diary) and Yamamoto oversee the series scripts.
