The anime is scheduled to debut on July 7 through the MBS and TBS channels, along with their affiliated networks, as part of the esteemed “Super Animeism” program lineup. This captivating series will consist of 52 episodes, each running for an engaging duration of 90 seconds.

Makoto, one-half of the comedic duo Yoneda 2000, will take on the endearing role of Igaguri—a young lad perpetually accompanied by his faithful canine companion. Igaguri, fueled by an unwavering desire to emulate every creature he encounters, sets off on a whimsical journey of self-discovery. Norihiro Urai, the other half of the comedic duo Dansei Blanco, will portray the character of Dog (or Inu), Igaguri’s amiable pet. Dog is a benevolent companion who wholeheartedly endeavors to fulfill Igaguri’s fervent aspirations of transforming into a living being.

The short series is inspired by Wada’s My Exercise game, featuring an inquisitive boy who engages in physical activity alongside a canine companion. Throughout his journey, the boy encounters diverse creatures and endeavors to imitate their movements, aided gallantly by his loyal dog.

Wada takes personal charge of the shorts, while planning and production are entrusted to Nobuaki Doi. New Deer handles the animation, and Toei Animation handles distribution.

The anime’s “Turtle” short has been selected to participate in the Grand Competition – Short Film category at the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb 2023 event in Croatia, scheduled from June 5 to June 10.

The My Exercise game was released in August 2020 for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam and itch.io.
