Crunchyroll released Stand My Heroes: Warmth of Memories, the latest original video anime (OVA) from the Stand My Heroes smartphone game, in India last week. Furthermore, the company introduced the English dub for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-Hen) TV anime earlier this week, and they also included the Hindi dub for the second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride anime at the end of the week.
The anime film Stand My Heroes: Warmth of Memories was released in Japan on May 24, following its initial screenings on January 28. Helming the project as the episode director is Hitomi Ezoe, known for her work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Hozuki’s Coolheadedness. The animation was handled by M.S.C, the same studio behind the 2019 Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth television anime. Sayaka Harada, who previously worked on STARMYU and Code:Realize -Guardian of Rebirth-, returned to oversee the series scripts, while Hajime Aida contributed as the scenario adviser once again. The character designs were created by Yukie Takayama, known for her work as an episode animation director on STARMYU and Code:Realize -Guardian of Rebirth-, while the music was composed by the talented band fox capture plan, recognized for their contributions to Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Salaryman’s Club.
The story revolves around a female protagonist with a unique ability: drugs have no effect on her. Set in modern Tokyo, the narrative takes place within Matori, a narcotics control unit operating under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. In her new role, the protagonist recruits a diverse array of individuals to form teams of attractive and capable heroes for different missions. These teams comprise investigators, idols, writers, genius high school students, top designers, butlers, underground doctors, and others. The OVA adaptation focuses on the additional Narumi Seo character event map story, which was introduced in the original game back in April 2018. Notably, it showcases the heroes from the Seo Research Lab who were absent in the previous television anime.
The television anime of the Stand My Heroes smartphone game originally premiered in October 2019 and has since gained substantial popularity. The game itself was launched in 2016 and has achieved an impressive milestone of over 1 million downloads.
