ODEX announced yesterday that the most awaited anime film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will be having an official India release in July 2021. The youtube announcement quotes 15 July 2021 as the general release with a promotional video.
ODEX hasn’t announced the theatre partner for the India release yet. Odex Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based company that licenses and publishes anime for local and regional Southeast Asian consumption. Odex was founded in 1987 and built its anime sales division in 2000 to sell anime in Singapore. According to speculation among fans, it would most probably the PVR Cinemas. But no official confirmation has been made by them.
Few month back PVR Cinemas’ official Instagram page responded to fan inquiries about Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train anime film India release. The comment stated that they are in touch with the official distributors of the anime movie.

Set after the events of the television series, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train has Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke embark on a new mission. Together with one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, they investigate the mysterious disappearance of over 40 people aboard the Mugen Train.
PLOT SUMMARY
When Mugen Train hit US theaters on April 23, a world of new and exciting opportunities opened up for the anime industry. Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer): Mugen Train broke box office records after dethroning longtime record holder Spirited Away and becoming the world’s top-grossing anime film at $ 440.15 million.
Needless to say, the anime world has been shaken to the core. With a flurry of people buying Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as their very first anime after hearing of its global success, anime veterans may be wondering how the industry will continue to grow from now on.
