Niantic’s acclaimed history in AR gaming includes the 2016 launch of the Pokémon GO app in select countries, and their creative prowess extends to 2021’s Pikmin Bloom, an AR app inspired by Nintendo’s Pikmin franchise.
CAPCOM’s latest installment in the Monster Hunter series, “Monster Hunter Rise,” made its debut on the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, followed by a PC release on Steam in January 2022. The game’s expansion, “Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak,” arrived on Switch and PC via Steam in June 2022, with subsequent releases on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass on April 28.
