Oshi no Ko Anime starts Streaming on Netflix India

Netflix has recently started streaming the television anime adaptation of the manga, “Oshi no Ko,” in India, bringing an exciting and unique story to Indian anime fans. The anime made its debut in Japan on April 12 and had an extended 90-minute version of the first episode that premiered in advance screenings at cinemas across Japan on March 17.

Directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and Chao Nekotomi and scripted by Jin Tanaka, the series is being produced by Doga Kobo. The talented Kanna Hirayama is in charge of designing the characters. Furthermore, YOASOBI performs the opening theme song “Idol,” while Queen Bee delivers the ending theme song “Mephisto,” adding a touch of musical flair to the series.

“Oshi no Ko” is an extraordinary story written by Aka Akasaka, author of “Kaguya-sama: Love is War,” and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, the creator of “Scum’s Wish.” The manga was launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020, and since then, it has garnered critical acclaim, with over three million copies in circulation. The manga won first place in the seventh “Next Manga Awards” and the Best General Manga category in the 46th annual Kodansha Manga Awards, among others.

The story follows Gorou, a gynecologist and an idol fan who is devastated when his favorite star, Ai, announces a sudden hiatus. However, little does he know that his life is about to change forever as he forms an unexpected bond with Ai that defies all common sense. Lies become an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga that explores the world of pop idols in a unique and exciting way.

With its thrilling plot, incredible character development, and stunning animation, “Oshi no Ko” promises to be a thrilling watch for Indian anime fans. The series has been nominated for various awards, including the 26th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and the 14th and 15th Manga Taisho Awards. Additionally, it ranked at #7 on the top 20 list of manga for male readers in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.
