These charts, introduced in September 2020, base their rankings on streaming and sales data from over 200 territories worldwide, as compiled by Luminate. In an exciting surge, “Idol” jumped from No.6 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart thanks to a 14% uptick in streams (45.7 million) and a whopping 39% boost in sales (24,000) over the past week.

Behind the success of “Idol” lies the anime series Oshi no Ko, an unflinching exploration of the entertainment industry adapted from the manga by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
