Parasyte Manga Inspires Korean Live-Action Adaptation on Netflix

Hitoshi Iwaaki ‘s “Parasitic Beast” is live-action on Netflix. It will be exclusively distributed worldwide under the title of “Parasitic -The Gray-“. “Parasitic Beast” is a story about Shinichi Izumi, an ordinary high school student, throwing himself into the battle against parasites with Migi.

A parasite parasitic on Shinichi’s right arm. Serialization started in 1988, and 10 volumes in total and 8 volumes in complete version were published. In 2014, it was made into TV animation, and in November of the same year and April 2015, it was made into a two-part live-action movie.

“Parasitic -The Gray-” is based on “Parasitic” and develops a new story different from the original. It depicts unidentified parasites that parasitize and control humans as hosts, and humans who fight to stop them. 

The director is Yong Sang-ho, who works on the movie “New Infection” series and “Hell is calling”. Along with Yong Sang-ho, Ryu Young-Jae of “Paper House Korea: Take the Unified Currency” will be in charge of the script.
