Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out’ Anime in India on Oct 13

PVR Cinemas’ Twitter account made an exciting announcement this past Tuesday: “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out,” the inaugural installment of a two-part sequel to Hajime Kamoshida’s beloved light novel series, “Seishun Buta Yarō,” is set to grace Indian theaters on October 13.

Debuting in Japan on June 23, “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out” rapidly amassed 175,648,924 yen in earnings (equivalent to around ₹9,89,99,415) and attracted 118,108 eager viewers within its first triumphant three days.

This sequel anime undertaking masterfully adapts the eighth and ninth volumes of this celebrated franchise: “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out” and “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid.” The latter installment is scheduled to premiere in Japan on December 1.

Returning to helm this project is the brilliant Sōichi Masui, directing under the banner of CloverWorks. The prolific Masahiro Yokotani also makes a welcome comeback, overseeing composition and scripts, while the talented Satomi Tamura resumes her role as the character designer.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out

Notably, the theme song for the first film features a mesmerizing solo rendition of the beloved “Fukashigi no Karte” (Mysterious Chart) track from the earlier television anime, performed by Kaede Azusagawa, voiced by the talented Yurika Kubo.

The returning cast includes:

  • Nao Tōyama as Tome Koga
  • Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa
  • Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba
  • Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara
  • Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama

The television anime series “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai,” based on the light novel series, made its debut in Japan in October 2018, running for a total of 13 episodes.

Following the TV series, the anime film “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl,” which adapts the sixth and seventh volumes of the light novel franchise, premiered in Japan in June 2019.
