Reign of the Seven Spellblades, Liar Liar Anime Coming to Crunchyroll

On Thursday, Crunchyroll made an exciting announcement for anime fans. They revealed their plans to stream two highly anticipated shows, “Reign of the Seven Spellblades” and “Liar Liar,” during the upcoming summer anime season. To kick off the festivities, Crunchyroll will be hosting the world premiere of “Liar Liar” at this year’s Anime Expo event on July 2, taking place at the Crunchyroll Stage in the JW Marriott. The screening will begin at 8:30 p.m. PDT, providing attendees with an exclusive first look.

Moreover, the Anime Expo will also feature an early premiere of “Reign of the Seven Spellblades” at the Crunchyroll Premieres: Round 5 panel on July 4, starting at 1:45 p.m. PDT. Fans won’t have to wait long to witness the magic and action-packed adventures. Furthermore, Anime Expo will treat viewers to an advance screening of “TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You High School Days” on July 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. With such an incredible lineup, anime enthusiasts are in for an unforgettable experience at the Anime Expo.

The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Bokuto Uno’s captivating light novel series, “Reign of the Seven Spellblades” (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru), is set to premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on July 7. Fans worldwide can also enjoy the series as it streams on d Anime Store and AbemaTV on the same day, while other streaming platforms will debut the anime on July 11. Excitingly, Crunchyroll will provide simulcast streaming in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

As the new school year begins at Kimberly Magic Academy, a mysterious figure emerges. Draped in black robes, wielding a white cane and a sword fastened to his side, a young man named Oliver approaches the renowned institution. In order to navigate the unforeseen perils lurking within the school’s deceptive facade, Oliver must forge an unbreakable bond with Nanao, a katana-wielding girl. Prepare for a treacherous journey where survival hinges on their alliance! Masato Matsune (Chronos Ruler) directs this captivating series, skillfully helmed by J.C. Staff. Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) masterfully oversees the series scripts, while Sōta Suwa (Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) expertly crafts the character designs. Complementing the enthralling narrative, Kujira Yumemi (In the Land of Leadale) creates a mesmerizing musical score.

The anime adaptation of Haruki Kuō’s Liar Liar light novel series, unrelated to Renjuro Kindaichi’s Liar x Liar manga, is set to premiere on Tokyo MX and Sun TV at 10:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT) on July 8, with a subsequent airing on BS Asahi on July 9. Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime simultaneously in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

This “academy x mind game x romantic comedy” story takes place on the “Academy” island, where students engage in fierce battles to determine their rankings. Hiroto Shinohara achieved the highest score ever recorded in the school’s challenging entrance exam, making him an instant standout. On his first day, he swiftly defeats the former champion, Sarasa Saionji, and secures a spot among the school’s prestigious “Seven Stars.”

Geek Toys will be directing the anime, with Satoru Ōno and Naoki Matsuura (Girls’ Frontline episode director) at the helm. Series scripts will be handled by Momoka Toyoda (Shadows House episode script writer). Yumi Nakamura (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku OVA 2-3 character designer) has been tasked with character design. The anime’s opening theme song, titled “Lies Goes On,” will be performed by May’n, while the ending theme song, “faky merry game,” will be performed by the idol group SMILE PRINCESS.
