On Tuesday, a new website unveiled the exciting news of an upcoming television anime adaptation of Shin Kouduki’s light novel series titled “Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyū wa, Jikka Kara Tsuihōsareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita” (The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases). The website treated fans with a captivating teaser visual, while also disclosing that the talented Shōta Aoi would lend his voice to the protagonist, Allen.

Kazuomi Koga, known as TenPuru, has taken the helm as the director of the anime project, collaborating with esteemed animation studios Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack. Rintarou Ikeda, renowned for works such as “Insomniacs After School” and “The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of The Gods,” assumes responsibility for crafting the series scripts. Yoshiki Ōkusa, known for notable contributions to series like “Hakyū Hōshin Engi” and “Farewell, My Dear Cramer,” joins as the accomplished scriptwriter.

To bring the characters to life, the talented Saori Hosoda, acclaimed for her work on “Phantom of the Idol,” has been entrusted with character design duties.

Kouduki debuted the light novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website in January 2018. The first volume of the novel series, featuring captivating illustrations by Chocoan, was published by TO Books in October 2018. Following its success, the fifth volume hit the shelves in February 2020.
This compelling light novel revolves around a world where formidable “blessings and gifts from the gods” are bestowed upon individuals upon reaching adulthood. The nature of these “gifts” determines their entire lives. Unfortunately, Allen, the protagonist, fails to acquire any such powers, becoming subject to ridicule, scorn, and ultimately banishment from his home. Seeking solace, he chooses to lead a tranquil existence in a remote land. However, unbeknownst to others, Allen harbors memories and powers from his past life as a heroic figure.

In 2019, Karasumaru launched a manga adaptation of this enthralling series on the Nico Nico Seiga website. The manga’s seventh compiled volume, brimming with captivating visuals, was released on January 14.
