
A live-action film adaptation of Tajima Islands ‘ Water flows towards the sea has been decided. Starring Suzu Hirose and directed by Tetsu Maeda, it will be released nationwide in June 2023. Water flows toward the sea is a story about a young man, Naotatsu, who ends up staying at his uncle’s house when he enters high school, and the men and women he lives with.
Centering on his relationship with Chisa Sakaki, a cold-hearted office lady who ends up living in the same house as Naotatsu, the interactions with the unique residents are depicted. It was serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine (Kodansha), and a total of three volumes were published. Suzu Hirose plays the role of Chisa Sakaki in the movie.

In the teaser visual, Sakaki played by Hirose was cut out with a cool expression. Also, in the promotional video, one of the important scenes in the play, An Unexpected Encounter on a Rainy Day is revealed. Sakaki, played by Hirose, has a sullen voice and expression, her profile beautifully reflected in the sea, and the words, If it wasn’t for me, this person’s shoulders wouldn’t have gotten wet.
