Sabikui Bisco Gets Second Season

The Dengeki Bunko 30th Summer Festival Online 2023 event has brought exciting news for fans of the Sabikui Bisco anime. A second season of the series has been announced, accompanied by a celebratory illustration from animation studio OZ. The first season of the anime aired in Winter 2022, consisting of 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series with English subtitles and provided dubbed versions in various languages.

Sabikui Bisco Gets Second Season

Sabikui Bisco is an action fantasy light novel series written by Shinji Cobkubo. The story follows Bisco Akaboshi, known as the “Man-Eating Mushroom,” who is determined to find the legendary “Sabikui” mushroom. This rare mushroom is believed to hold the ultimate cure for a rusting disease that plagues the post-apocalyptic world. Bisco is joined on his quest by his loyal companion, the giant crab Akutagawa, and the compassionate doctor Milo Nekoyanagi.

The light novel, illustrated by Akagishi K and mocha, won the Silver Prize in the 24th Dengeki Taisho competition before being published by Dengeki Bunko. Yuusuke Takahashi created a manga adaptation that ran from April 2019 to March 2021, with a second part serialized by Sou Natsuki starting in December 2021. The English license for the light novel was acquired by Yen Press in May 2021, with the fifth volume set to release on July 18.

Sabikui Bisco combines elements of adventure, mystery, and survival in a unique post-apocalyptic setting. The anime’s second season promises to continue the thrilling journey of Bisco and his comrades as they seek to purify the decaying world and find a cure for the rusting disease. Fans can look forward to more captivating storytelling and stunning visuals in the upcoming season.
