NHK made an exciting announcement on Monday regarding the live-action series based on Sakaomi Yuzaki’s manga, “She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat” (Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna). The highly anticipated sequel of the series is set to premiere in early 2024, comprising a total of 20 episodes. Notably, this upcoming installment will hold the distinction of being the first show on NHK’s “YoruDora” programming block to receive a sequel.
The inaugural season premiered in November 2022, spanning a captivating arc of 10 episodes. Leading the ensemble cast were Manami Higa as Yuki Nomoto, the culinary enthusiast, and Emi Nishino as Totoko Kasuga, the epicurean aficionado. The brilliant wordsmith Yuri Yamada crafted the script, while the musical genius Gorō Itō orchestrated the enchanting melodies that graced the series.
Higa and Nishino are returning to portray their characters in the sequel. The manga made its debut in Kadokawa’s COMIC it digital manga magazine in 2021. The fourth volume is set to be released by Kadokawa on June 15.
Cooking serves as Nomoto’s stress relief, but one fateful day, her culinary creations exceed her capacity for consumption. Promptly, she extends an impulsive dinner invitation to her solitary neighbor, Kasuga. What will transpire from this unexpected communal meal?
In the 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga is Amazing!) top 20 list for female readers, the manga secured a commendable second place.
