Concerns have been raised among users of the Shonen Jump+ iOS app after a recent security breach compromised the personal information of certain customer accounts. The app’s management team issued a press release on July 18, 2023, confirming that unauthorized logins had occurred, leading to the accidental leakage of user data, including email addresses.
The breach occurred between 14:43 and 18:00 on July 7, 2023, impacting a total of 42 customer accounts. The compromised data included not only email addresses but also personal profile information, such as nicknames, gender, date of birth, icons, as well as details related to coin balances and purchase histories.

Although the incident caused alarm, the app’s developers provided reassurance that no instances of unauthorized charges or misuse of paid coins had been reported. The management team promptly launched an investigation to determine the cause of the breach, ultimately identifying an unfortunate mistake made by one of their staff members during routine operations. This error unintentionally granted unauthorized access to specific user accounts.
