Today, June 1, 2021, KADOKAWA announced the establishment of Studio KADAN, the first production company in the KADOKAWA Group to handle both 3DCG animation and VFX. KADOKAWA Group already owns two animation production companies: ENGI (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!), A hybrid digital animation production studio combining digital drawing and 3DCG, and KINEMA CITRUS (Made in Abyss), a company that produces hand-drawn animation.

Studio KADAN is a production studio based on Hiroyuki Seshita, one of Japan’s leading 3DCG animation directors, who has worked on the anime television series Knights of Sidonia and the anime film BLAME! The main characteristics of the studio are that it has an environment that facilitates the participation of various creators and the latest knowledge in CG development by using the knowledge and production process of director Seshita in the CG field.
