Studio Trigger President and Animators Featured at Otakon

Excitement soared at Otakon as Studio Trigger’s President and talented animators took the stage, captivating the crowd with their innovative storytelling and visually stunning creations. Attendees were treated to exclusive insights into the studio’s creative process, as they shared anecdotes and behind-the-scenes glimpses of their acclaimed works.

The event left fans in awe, solidifying Studio Trigger’s reputation as a powerhouse in the world of animation and leaving them eagerly anticipating their next groundbreaking project.

The staff of Otakon 2023 announced on Friday that the event will host the following guests from Studio Trigger:

  • President of Studio Trigger Masahiko Otsuka (Neon Genesis Evangelion episode director, GURREN LAGANN co-director).
  • Animator at Studio Trigger Shunpei Gun’yasu (PROMARE, BNA: Brand New Animal)
  • Animator at Studio Trigger Takuya Saitō (SSSS.DYNAZENON, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners)

Otakon 2023 is set to take place from July 28 to 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

This year’s convention boasts an impressive lineup of guests, including renowned manga artist Kyoko Aiba, esteemed Macross artist Hidetaka Tenjin, and the talented Macross anime director and mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori. In addition, composer Ryū Kawamura will be present to grace the event with their musical prowess. The roster further includes the esteemed voice actress Junko Iwao, acclaimed mechanical designer and director Shinji Aramaki, celebrated composer Yasuharu Takanashi, accomplished composer Shota Nakama, and the sensational rock ensemble -yaiba-, who will be treating attendees to an unforgettable performance. Voice actress and author Haruna Ikezawa will also be in attendance as an honored guest, while producers and a CG director from Orange will add to the excitement by their presence. Furthermore, animators and artists from Maho Film will be joining the event, contributing their expertise and creativity to the vibrant atmosphere.

On March 3, the event disclosed its COVID-19 guidelines for this year’s occasion. In accordance with “local and federal guidance,” the policy states that attendees are not obliged to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination.
