Manga fans have something to look forward to as Inoue’s highly anticipated new series is set to debut next month. Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry manga platform will be releasing “Kimi no Katana ga Oreru Made – Tsukimiya Matsuri no Koigataki” on May 9th. The romantic comedy series is set during the Bakumatsu period in Edo, Japan.

Inoue, known for previous work “The Duke of Death and His Maid,” which gained significant popularity both in Japan and overseas, is expected to deliver another captivating story. The manga series ran from October 2017 to May 2022, with its 16th and final compiled book volume published in July of last year. The English version of the manga is currently being published by Seven Seas, with the fifth volume released in March of this year.

“The Duke of Death and His Maid” anime adaptation premiered in July 2021 and aired for 12 episodes. The show’s finale revealed a sequel, which the anime’s staff later confirmed to be the second season, set to air in July 2023. The series follows a nobleman cursed to bring death to any living thing he touches, along with his devoted maid who tries to find a way to break the curse.
