Square Enix’s manga adaptation of Ryūta Kijima and Sando’s “The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids” light novel series is set to receive its own television anime. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January on various affiliated stations, including ABC TV and TV Asahi, as part of the “Animazing!!!” programming block.
The main cast includes Jun Kasama as Rud, Kaede Hondo as Nin, and Kana Ichinose as Luna. The story follows Rud, a tank in the Hero’s Party known for having the highest defense in history. For Rud, labyrinth raids hold more significance than just a quest—they represent a means to cure his beloved sister’s illness. However, after being unjustly kicked out of the party, Rud embarks on a journey back to his hometown, where he unexpectedly discovers powerful, latent skills. With unmatched defense and newfound abilities, Rud’s adventure as the strongest tank begins.
Directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani and produced by STUDIO POLON, the series scripts are overseen by Hitomi Amamiya. Character design is handled by Taihei Nagai, with music by Victor Entertainment.
The original light novel series, which inspired the manga, was penned by Ryūta Kijima and first serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in July 2018. The first print volume with illustrations by Sando was published by Shufunotomo in April 2019. Square Enix is credited for the manga’s adaptation, and the ninth compiled volume is set to be released soon.
Fans can anticipate an action-packed and fantasy-filled anime adaptation as Rud’s epic journey comes to life on screen in “The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids.” The series promises to be a thrilling addition to the world of anime in January 2024.
