The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat Gets S2

During the live-streamed “Sneaker Bunko 35th Anniversary Festa!” special event on Sunday, exciting news was unveiled: the television anime adaptation of Rui Tsukiyo and Reia’s light novel series, “The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat” (Sekai Saikō no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei Suru), will be returning for a highly anticipated second season.

While the announcement didn’t divulge specific details regarding the staff or production, it did feature comments from the director of the first season, Masafumi Tamura.

The inaugural season of this anime made its debut in October 2021 and was helmed by Masafumi Tamura (known for works like “Wise Man’s Grandchild,” “The Misfit of Demon King Academy,” and “Two Car”) under the joint efforts of SILVER LINK and Studio Palette. Overseeing the series scripts was Katsuhiko Takayama (noted for “Two Car,” “Ange Vierge,” and “The Future Diary”), who also contributed to its writing. Character designs were skillfully crafted by Eri Nagata (“Ensemble Stars!,” “Blade & Soul”).

For English-speaking audiences, Yen Press is responsible for publishing the light novels, and they aptly describe the story as follows:

“When a master assassin is reborn in an alternate world, he inherits a legacy of shadowy killers. Armed with his contemporary knowledge, skills, and the unique magic and techniques of this new realm, he stands poised to become the most unstoppable assassin in history…!”

Tsukiyo initiated the serialization of this tale on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) platform in July 2018. Kadokawa subsequently commenced the publication of the series in physical volumes, featuring illustrations by Reia, in February 2019.
