In the last few years, Netflix has increased its areas of coverage and more than hundreds of anime are available for streaming on the platform. Today, we’ll be listing down the top 10 must-watch romance anime on Netflix, so strap your seatbelts because we’ll be falling in love today.
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!
Rikka Takanashi is a Chunibyo(delusional teen), and Yuuta Togashi is the ex-Chunibyo(used to be a delusional teen). The anime is moe in every way, and there is more to the table than these two cuties falling in love with each other with every passing episode. In hopes of helping Rikka to recover from the Chunibyo syndrome, the former “Dark Flame Master” falls in love with her and the rest, well, you know how it goes!
Violet Evergarden
If your friend ever says that Violet Evergarden is not the most beautiful anime ever made! Smack him/her on the head. The show is about an unrequited romance between a girl and a man who were late to confess, or they weren’t there to understand the meaning behind the world – “I Love You”. Usually, Violet Evergarden might come as a slice of life anime, but once you get past that dilemma and understand what is going on in the story, there is no going back, you’ve fallen in love with Violet.
Teasing Master Takagi-san
If you are looking for something lighthearted and cute, then Teasing Master Takagi-san will fill your voided heart with cuteness and love. In a nutshell, the show is about two middle-schoolers trying to tease each other, and the one who gets annoyed first loses. While there is a hint of romance in the show, the two never cross that line and stays inside the wholesome genre of slice-of-life. A lighthearted show about a too shy boy and a smart girl doing pranks to tease each other, summer holidays justified.
Ouran High School Host Club
Ouran High School Host Club takes cross-dressing to the next with the main lead being a girl, dressing up as a boy to pay off her debt. Japan is famous for host clubs, and so does Ouran Academy’s Host Club led by Tamaki Suou. Haruhi Fujioka accidentally joins the club and thus begins a new adventure for Haruhi as she is surrounded by high-class boys who are charming and stunning according to anime standards. Your Lie in April
If you ever loved music in your life, then Your Lie in April is for you. The story revolves around the child prodigy Arima, and Kaori, who gets mixed up with each other while struggling with their demons. Without giving out spoilers, the show is extremely romantic, while the couple never confessed their feelings, as viewers we can see the chemistry between the two. It’s hard to ignore Your Lie in Apri when the show has contributed so much to the anime community, and Netflix did the right job by including this series on its platform.
Toradora
Toradora is anything but bad. Sure, it’s a slow burn and it takes time to develop. The chemistry between is characters is impressive. Taiga, being a short, short-tempered, individual is someone feared by the whole school. On the other hand, Ryuuji Takasu, the sixteen-year-old delinquent-looking boy is also feared by the school. However, both the individuals are not that scary at all. In fact, both of them are love-sicked individuals who are not able to confess their feelings to their crushes. Now, we all where this plot is going so imma leave it to that.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War
Kaguya-sama: Love is War is one of the most-watched anime series on Netflix. The show is hilarious, and the inside jokes are a killer. From Kaguya hearing about chin-chin to Ishigami wanting to die, Kaguya-sama: Love is War is the epitome of humor and comedy. If you’ve been a romance anime fan, you’ve in fall in love with the nerving chemistry between our protagonists who just can’t seem to accept that they are in love. The series has some of the best side-characters in anime, and each episode is a lightweight punch of teenage love comedy to our faces.
Tsurezure Children
This is the show that nobody knows about yet we can’t help but laugh when small clips of the episodes are portrayed as memes on the internet. Tsurezure Children is about the romance between teens who are not yet sure how to do it properly. The show is hilarious in every way you look at it, and there is no way we can forget the Tsundere Ryōko, who once tried to outsmart Masafumi Akagi, but ends up in a relationship with him. The show has everything you’d expect from a high school romance anime, and it is available on Netflix.
Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-Kun
Now are getting into some comedy stuff arent we? Behold Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-Kun, a series about a girl who confesses to her crush but the artist cum model man ends up giving her an autograph because why not? It an anime after all. What do you expect? Anyway, the slow romance between the characters starts, and both of them slowly & steadily come together. Even though the show focuses on the two leads, you’ll love the side characters who are equally interesting and comedic.
Clannad
The best is saved for the last. Clannad is full of surprises and portrays an actual representation of high school love and how to properly manage it. It is hard to believe that this series was released in 2004 and still holds value till now. The story revolves around Nagisa Furukawa and Tomoya Okazaki, who tries to overcome everything to be together. The anime has feelings, an awkward set of characters, top-tier waifus to choose from, and what else do you expect from this high-school romance anime. And don’t forget to watch Clannad: After Story, which is the sequels to Clannad season 1.

Clannad: Clannad is beautiful with its character development, story, comedy, and feelings. It beautifully portrays the life and all of its truths, yet manages to add the anime into it. It will make you ride a roller coaster of emotions (well at least I did) and smack you in the face with more emotions and then hug you and say sorry, 🙂 Still One Of The Best Romance Masterpiece.
