This story follows Youji Itami as he travels to Ginza, Tokyo, for a doujin conference when a mysterious portal in the appearance of a gigantic gate opens out of nowhere. Supernatural beasts and warriors in mediaeval armour emerge from this gate, rampaging across the city, murdering and destroying everything in their path.

Youji saves as many lives as he can with quick actions, while the rest of the JSDF focuses on preventing the invasion. Youji has been tasked with directing a special recon team as part of a JSDF task force that will be sent to the world beyond the gate, now known as the “Special Region,” three months after the invasion.

They must go into this unknown region in order to have a better understanding of what they are up against and to make friends with the people in the hopes of forming peace ties with the ruling empire. However, if they fail, they risk being drawn into a horrific battle that would swallow both sides of the gate.

The scenario for this story is An old alien hypergate was discovered on the moon’s surface in 1972. Humanity began migrating to Mars and establishing there with this technology. The Vers Empire was created after settlers discovered more advanced technology and claimed Mars and its mysteries for themselves.

In 1999, a conflict on the moon’s surface led the hypergate to erupt, destroying the moon and spreading remains into a debris belt around the planet. Cut off from Mars, the surviving members of the Vers Empire built numerous large orbiting space stations within the debris belt and agreed to a ceasefire.

Mobile Suit Gundam is an anime television series, produced and animated by Nippon Sunrise. It premiered in Japan on the Nagoya Broadcasting on the Nagoya Broadcasting Network and its affiliated ANN stations on April 7, 1979, and ran for 43 episodes until January 26, 1980.

This anime is set in the Universal Century year 0079. A fight has erupted between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon, a space colony seeking independence. A teenage kid is compelled to pilot the Federation’s new secret weapon when the space colony where he lives is assaulted by Zeon mobile suits, huge robots piloted by humans.

The Gundam, a significantly more powerful mobile suit, is the new secret weapon. Throughout the One-Year Conflict, Amuro Ray and many other citizens his age must commandeer a Federation spaceship and transform into soldiers in order to survive the war against Zeon’s forces.
