The official website for the anime adaptation of Kuji Furumiya’s Unnamed Memory light novel series recently announced that the highly anticipated show has been postponed until 2024 due to “production circumstances.”
However, fans can still look forward to exciting updates during the “Dengeki Bunko 30th Natsu no Saiten Online 2023 powered by ABEMA” event on July 16. At the event, a new promotional video and visual for the anime will be unveiled.
Steering the anime’s direction is Kazuya Miura, known for his work on “Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs” and “Kan Colle Season 2: Let’s Meet at Sea.” Deko Akao, recognized for her contributions to notable series like “Komi Can’t Communicate,” “Noragami,” and “The Case Study of Vanitas,” takes charge of the series composition. Chika Nōmi, who previously worked on “Kan Colle Season 2: Let’s Meet at Sea” and “Kemono Michi: Rise Up,” will adapt chibi’s original character designs for animation. The music for the series will be composed by Akito Matsuda, known for his work on “Sound! Euphonium” and “Liz and the Blue Bird.”
Leading the cast, Yoshiki Nakajima will voice the character Oscar, while Atsumi Tanezaki will lend her voice to Tinasha.
Yen Press is responsible for the English releases of both the light novel series and its manga adaptation. The story revolves around the existence of powerful mages called Witches, capable of wielding cataclysmic power. Oscar, the crown prince of the influential kingdom of Farsas, faces a curse that prevents him from fathering an heir. In his quest to break the curse, he seeks out Tinasha, renowned as the most powerful witch on the continent. To reach her, he must climb her tower, rumored to grant the wish of anyone who conquers it. However, when Oscar finally reaches the summit, his request surprises Tinasha—he asks her to become his bride.
Furumiya initially serialized the novels on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in September 2012, gaining immense popularity. The novels, featuring captivating illustrations by chibi, were subsequently published in print by Kadokawa in January 2019. Notably, the series claimed the top spot in the prestigious 2020 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook.
