Upcoming Releases for Shaman King, Edens Zero, & More Announced by Netflix

Netflix is continuing its Geeked Week theme of virtual ads for its schedule list, with a heavy focus on anime for yesterday’s list. Unless otherwise noted, the titles listed will be released globally on select release dates.

The first major anime-related announcement is the acquisition of the feature film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway. The film suffered another theatrical release delay in Japan last month, due to the ongoing COVID-19 state of emergency in many major cities and prefectures. The movie is scheduled for a Netflix release on July 1, according to the Netflix Anime trailer on YouTube.

The Shaman King reboot television anime will finally see a global release on August 9, after premiering exclusively in Japan and select international territories earlier this year on Netflix in April.

The anime adaptation of the Edens Zero manga written by Hiro Mashima hits Netflix globally beginning August 26, long before the previously announced Fall 2021 release.

For a new announcement, Netflix has announced the upcoming release of a new anime by Hirotaka Adachi and famous illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, titled ‘Exception’. More details are expected in the future.

The second original anime announcement is a new anime film titled Make My Day. More details are expected in the future.

The next announced anime project is an adaptation of the live-action film Bright: Samurai Soul directed by famed anime director Kyohei Ishiguro.

Finally, the Godzilla Singular Point TV anime will premiere globally on June 24.
