Toei Animation has unveiled an English-dubbed trailer for the highly-anticipated Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning film. The movie is set to grace U.S. theaters on November 8 and 9. November 8 will see the English-dubbed version on the big screen, while November 9 offers the Japanese version with subtitles, both at 7:00 p.m. local time.
An exciting bonus awaits the first 50 attendees on each screening night – a free Digimon Card Game Tamer Party Pack -THE BEGINNING- ver. 2.0 set, featuring exclusive cards commemorating the film.
Prior to its U.S. release, the film is set to hit Japanese theaters on October 27. To add to the excitement, fans can enjoy a special feature showcasing the cast and film footage on October 26, streaming on YouTube in both Japanese and English.
The film’s narrative unfolds in February 2012, post the events of Digimon Adventure tri. and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. It spotlights the characters, including the lead, Daisuke Motomiya (Davis Motomiya in English), in their 20s.

- Megumi Ogata as Rui Ōwada, a mysterious youth who descended from Tokyo Tower and says, “I was the first in the world to become a DigiDestined”
- Rie Kugimiya as Ukkomon, a Digimon who looks like a slippery marine creature and who is the key to the plot
Director Tomohisa Taguchi, known for his work on the four-part Persona 3 the Movie film series, Kino’s Journey – The Beautiful World, and Twin Star Exorcists, is teaming up once again with scriptwriter Akatsuki Yamatoya, famed for their contributions to Digimon Adventure, Digimon Frontier, and Digimon: Data Squad.
The esteemed anime studio Yumeta Company, in collaboration with the production company Toei Animation, is returning after their success with Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
Digimon Adventure 02 marked the inaugural direct television anime sequel to the initial Digimon Adventure series, introducing a fresh set of central characters. Originally airing in Japan from April 2000 to March 2001, it subsequently graced screens in the United States from August 2000 to May 2001. Discotek, on July 29, unveiled its plans to release this anime, first in English and later in Japanese.
The sequel film, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, elegantly depicted “the concluding escapade of Tai and Agumon.” Initially premiering in Japan in February 2020, it then embarked on a global release journey throughout 2020-2021.
