Viz Media has unveiled an exciting new English-subtitled trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata’s acclaimed manga, ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’. The gripping trailer gave fans a sneak peek of the anime’s opening and ending theme songs, stirring anticipation for the July 9 premiere in Japan.
The trailer featured “Song of the Dead” by KANA-BOON as the opening theme, and Shiyui’s “Happiness of the Dead” as the ending theme. In addition to the captivating musical performances, the trailer introduced Makoto Furukawa as the voice of Kenichiro Ryuzaki and Minami Takahashi as Beatrix Amerhauser.

Courtesy of Viz Media, Shogakukan, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Japan, the anime will also be available for streaming on Hulu and Netflix in the United States from 5:00 a.m. EDT on July 9. The release dates for other streaming platforms will be announced by Viz Media in the future.
The anime adaptation is headlined by Shūichirō Umeda as the protagonist, Akira Tendo, with Tomori Kusunoki playing the cautious and diligent Shizuka Mikazuki. The production is helmed by director Kazuki Kawagoe, with Hanako Ueda serving as the assistant director. Character and zombie design are credited to Kii Tanaka and Junpei Fukuchi, respectively, while Makoto Miyazaki provides the musical score. The anime is produced by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd.
The premise of ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ revolves around Akira’s life transformation from a disillusioned office worker to a proactive survivor of a zombie apocalypse. Empowered by his new reality, he aims to accomplish a 100-item bucket list before his impending doom.

Having first appeared in Shogakukan’s Sunday GX magazine in October 2018, the ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ manga earned a nomination for an Eisner award. Its popularity has further spawned a live-action film, set to premiere on Netflix worldwide in 2023.
The creative mind behind ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’, Haro Aso, also saw his ‘Alice in Borderland’ manga adapted into a successful live-action series by Netflix, with the second season having premiered in December 2022.
