Yong Yea, the fresh English voice actor for Kiryu in Sega’s Yakuza series, disclosed on Twitter that the upcoming Yakuza Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name game won’t feature an English dub at its November 9 launch.
Instead, the dub will be included in a post-release patch announced at a later date.
Sega describes Yakuza Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name as a tale that follows Kazuma Kiryu, who operates under the codename “Joryu.” Once a legendary yakuza, he faked his death and shed his name to protect his family.
Now, he’s pulled back into conflict by a mysterious figure intent on revealing him. Thrilling sub-missions promise an epic showdown as you explore Sotenbori and Yokohama.
The game will release globally on November 9 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
Kazuma Kiryu, a former Yakuza member, was the protagonist in the first six Yakuza mainline games, as well as the Yakuza 0 prequel. Yakuza: Like A Dragon starred Ichiban Kasuga, and it was released in the West in November 2020 for various platforms.
Additionally, Like a Dragon: Ishin! (a “rebuilt” version of Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!) launched on February 21 for multiple platforms.
