During Netflix’s themed “Geeked Week” of programming announcements, the streaming service has provided an update, albeit mild, to the long-delayed, planned, live-action Cowboy Bebop television series.

The series was scheduled for a 2020 premiere before being delayed by a shocking on-set accident that injured lead actor John Cho and forced a suspension of production, only for production to be further delayed as a result of the global pandemic of COVID-19 and recently concluded the production of the first season last March.
Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.
