Zombie Land Saga Voice Actors Join Latest Zom 100 Anime Ep for Cameos

On Monday, the Twitter handles for the Zombie Land Saga and Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead anime unveiled an intriguing collaboration. In the latest episode of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, the sixth installment, the notable idol group Franchouchou’s cast members from Zombie Land Saga – Kaede Hondo, Asami Tano, Risa Taneda, Maki Kawase, Rika Kinugawa, and Minami Tanaka – made special cameos.

Notably, these voice actresses lent their talents to zombie roles within the episode. Curiously, the Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Twitter account playfully challenged fans to identify these appearances.

To celebrate this unique crossover, the Zombie Land Saga Twitter account shared an exclusive illustration.

While the sixth episode premiered in Japan on Sunday, it’s worth noting that certain streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll opted to release the episode on Monday due to unforeseen production circumstances.

As for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, the anime debuted in Japan on July 9. Its licensing for North America, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand was secured by Viz Media. Remarkably, the anime stands as a collaborative effort involving Viz Media, Shogakukan, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Japan. The series found its way to audiences through Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix in the United States, all on July 9.

Guided by Kazuki Kawagoe’s direction at studio BUG FILMS, with Hanako Ueda serving as assistant director, the anime boasts Hiroshi Seko as the overseer of its series scripts. Accompanying this creative team is character designer Kii Tanaka and zombie designer Junpei Fukuchi. A noteworthy mention goes to Makoto Miyazaki, responsible for the captivating music, while Maiko Gōda handles “music selection,” and dugout takes charge of sound production.

The anime’s production is in the capable hands of Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. The opening theme “Song of the Dead” is energetically performed by KANA-BOON, while the ending theme “Happiness of the Dead” resonates with the voice of Shiyui.

In related anime news, the Zombie Land Saga anime, a collaboration between MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames, initially graced screens in October 2018. Crunchyroll catered to its global audience by streaming the 12-episode series as it aired, with Funimation providing an English dub.

Following up on its success, the Zombie Land Saga Revenge sequel debuted in Japan in April 2021. Crunchyroll once again facilitated simultaneous streaming, while Funimation handled the English dubbing. Moreover, exciting plans are in place for an upcoming film project tied to the franchise.
